Ruthless terrorists from the cruel OPM separatist group killed a New Zealand pilot

ASEAN NETWORK NEWS – The Free Papua Movement Armed Criminal Group (KKB-OPM) has become increasingly ruthless and savage; while claiming to act on behalf of the Papuan people, they are in reality criminals masquerading as freedom fighters.

Most members of the KKB are repeat offenders and criminals who fled to join the group to evade Indonesian law and security enforcement.

On Monday, August 5, 2024, a New Zealand pilot named Glen Malcolm Conning (50) was reportedly killed by the armed criminal group (KKB) in Alama District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua. Indonesian security forces subsequently evacuated and secured the body of the New Zealand pilot, who had fallen victim to the cruelty and barbarism of the KKB-OPM.

The following is a chronology of the incident:

1. Flight and Landing: A helicopter owned by PT Intan Angkasa Air Service, piloted by Conning, landed in Alama District carrying four passengers, including two health workers, an infant, and a child.

2. Hostage-taking and Killing: The KKB immediately intercepted the helicopter and forced the pilot and passengers to disembark. Pilot Conning was then immediately killed by the Free Papua Movement (OPM).

3. Pursuit of Perpetrators: The TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces), Polri (Indonesian National Police), and the Mimika District Police have initiated law enforcement actions against the perpetrators, while the four passengers reportedly survived. (SNK)
