President Prabowo Inaugurates Five Dams, Reaffirms Commitment to Serving the Nation and Its People

ASEAN NETWORK NEWS | President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed his commitment to serving Indonesia and its people during the inauguration of five dams located across different regions of the country. The ceremony was centered at Meninting Dam in West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Friday, July 10, 2026.

In his remarks, President Prabowo emphasized that dam construction is a long-term investment that plays a strategic role in strengthening national food security, water security, and sustainable development. He described the infrastructure as a vital foundation for improving public welfare and supporting Indonesia's future growth.

The President also noted that despite Indonesia's abundant natural resources, the nation continues to face various challenges. He stated that some parties do not wish to see Indonesia become a strong and prosperous country. Therefore, he called on all Indonesians to remain united and vigilant against any threats that could undermine the nation's interests.

Addressing the public and government officials in attendance, President Prabowo stressed that he would carry out the mandate entrusted to him with full responsibility. He pledged to dedicate all of his energy, efforts, and capabilities to advancing the interests of the Indonesian people, particularly in eradicating poverty and eliminating hunger.

Furthermore, President Prabowo underscored that national progress cannot be achieved without hard work, cooperation, and unity. According to him, the construction of major infrastructure projects, such as dams, demonstrates the government's commitment to building a stronger, more self-reliant, and more prosperous Indonesia.

The five dams inaugurated are Meninting Dam in West Nusa Tenggara, Keureuto Dam and Rukoh Dam in Aceh, Jlantah Dam in Central Java, and Sidan Dam in Bali. Together, these projects are expected to expand irrigation networks, improve access to clean water, reduce flood risks, support renewable energy development, and enhance agricultural productivity across Indonesia.
